We
have a range of coaching sessions for all ages to come and improve
their game of tennis including squad sessions, group sessions and
individual one to one coaching sessions.
We
currently have 3 CCA (Club Coach Award) Coaches at the club. All
coaches are experienced in all general aspects of coaching and can
cater for players of all ages and standards. They are very highly
motivated and have a keen desire to provide an excellent learning
environment for individuals and group sessions.
The
club is proud to have an expanding junior section with over 120
children enrolled on coaching courses each week. We are working
in partnership with The South Devon Tennis Academy, South Devon
College. This is a sports performance tennis course designed for
school leavers to study a Btec National Diploma in Sports Performance
whilst playing full time tennis at the club. As part of the course
the students also train to become LTA qualified tennis coaches.

Steve
Maslen
Steve
is the club's Head Coach and Club Manager. He has been coaching
since 1998 and specialises in the club's performance players
and performance programme. He also has over ten years experience
working in fitness training and health and fitness. Steve
is the Director of Coaching for the South Devon Tennis Academy
and has recently graduated with a PGCE (PCE) in Postgraduate
Education.

Kevin
Durney
Kevin
is our Schools to Club Co-ordinator for the tennis club. He delivers
mini tennis to local primary schools and actively forms strong links
between the club and schools. Kevin is a diverse coach and is happy
working with all areas of tennis coaching. He is a qualified sports
therapist.

Jonathon
Blanchard
Jon
is a popular coach with both our junior and adult membership. He
works with a very relaxed attitude and this is a quality well received
by his players. Jon works full time within a school environment
and also works with some of the club's performance players. Jon
has a loyal following of players at the club who obviously enjoy
his relaxed approach and expertise. Jon's other passions are surfing
and taking in the great outdoors.
